Professional Experience:

Craig Edwards graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in 1980. From 1980–84 he taught for Lewis and Clark Law School and was a supervising attorney in the school’s clinical education program. After arguing and winning a case that received national attention in the United States Supreme Court in 1984, Craig accepted a position as in-house, corporate counsel for US Bancorp and its subsidiaries, including U.S. Bank, U.S. Bancorp Mortgage Company, and U.S. Bancorp Leasing and Financial. In addition to working for US Bancorp between 1984 and 1992, Craig taught Business Law at Mt. Hood Community College and Portland Community College, and was an instructor of “Law and Banking” classes for the Oregon Financial Institutions Education Association. In 1992 Craig established his practice in Bend, focusing on real estate and construction law, creditors’ rights and commercial litigation, business and banking law, and estate planning. He has presented programs for the Oregon State Bar, including “Current Developments in Real Estate Law,” “Professionalism in Real Estate/Land Use Transactions,” “UCC Article 2A – Uniform Personal Property Leasing Act,” and “The Electronic Fund Transfer Act.” He is an instructor and frequent speaker for the Central Oregon Builders Association, teaching classes including “What Should Be in Your Construction Contract,” “Subcontracts from the Perspective of the General and the Sub,” and “Construction Lien Foreclosures.” He has presented programs for the Central Oregon Association of Realtors, the Oregon Association of Realtors, the Bend Chamber of Commerce, and the Business Development Center of Central Oregon Community College. He is the author of chapters in Oregon State Bar CLE publications, and served as Treasurer of the Law Practice Management Section of the Oregon State Bar from 2002-2006.

Personal Background:

Craig’s personal interests include skiing fast, swimming daily, riding his red scooter around town, and managing a flock of backyard chickens. He is a loyal and obsessed fan of the Baltimore Orioles. He enjoys spending time with Susan – his wife of 40+ years, and their three adult children.
